Dear Road Runners Community,
Due to the local, state, and national responses to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are suspending the start of the Spring Track & Field season until further notice. As of now, the school outdoor facilities will not be available until 4/17/2020, and we expect that could be extended.
The APRR Board has shut down registration for the Spring Track & Field season and will be issuing refunds for the Road Runner fees to those who have already paid. Fees paid for the required USATF membership go directly to that separate organization. If you find yourself in financial hardship, we will gladly work with you to recover those fees. Otherwise please consider that the USATF membership, which lasts for a whole year, may be used later in the season or for other sports like Cross Country. Please consider as well that the USATF supports important programs around the country.
Given how late our season lasts (often through early to mid-July), we are open to the possibility of starting a shortened season depending how long the mandates for social distancing remain in effect. We will keep you informed as we receive further information.
If there is a shortened season, it will be entirely dependent upon volunteer availability. There has been response for the Team Manager position, but we will have to assess our entire volunteer needs if we are to launch a program after mandates are lifted.
As always, we appreciate your support for the Road Runners program. If you have any questions, please email the Board at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Practices begin Monday, April 6 for youth aged 7 - 14.
Practices will be held:
Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
There may be some optional clinics/family practices on Saturdays
The first practice will include a mandatory parent meeting. Practices are held at the track behind the Averill Park High School. Remember to bring a LABELED reusable water bottle, and please wear layers as the temperture can drop quickly. Be prepared for all types of weather.
Registration fee info:
Through March 22, the Early Bird registration fee is $75.
After March 22, the registration fee is $85.
A $15 late fee will be assessed for registrations on or after April 20.
We offer a $10 discount for additional siblings.
The registration fee includes a uniform, entry into 2-3 cross country meets, and facility use fees charged by the Averill Park School District.
In order to register, you must be a member of USATF (USA Track and Field) and have a current, valid USATF number. THIS IS REQUIRED FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES! Go to https://legacy.usatf.org/membership/application/index.asp to join. The youth fee is $20. Memberships are good for a calendar year. If you renewed your membership for the 2020 Track and Field season, it will still be valid for the 2020 XC season.
The Board of Averill Park Road Runners believes that all children should have access to healthy activities and has made a small number of scholarships available for families who may otherwise be unable to afford the program. Please contact Chris Garrison at email@example.com for more information.
